Description

Marston Moreteyne War Memorial is a memorial located in a lawn at the junction of Station Road and Bedford Road in Marston Moreteyne. It features a Latin cross that rises from a tapering octagonal shaft, which is set on a square plinth with chamfered corners, resting on a three-stepped base. The north face of the memorial has an incised inscription that reads: "IN GRATEFUL MEMORY / OF THE MEN OF / MARSTON / WHO FOUGHT AND OF THE FOLLOWING / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR / 1914 - 1918 / (NAMES)." The north face also includes the years "1939 - 1945" followed by additional names. The east and west faces contain further incised lists of names.

Surrounding the memorial are limestone pillars that are connected by steel chains.
