Description
Millbrook Station is a railway station built around 1846 for the Bedford Branch of the old London North Western Railway. The building is constructed of brick and roughcast, featuring applied ornamental timber framing. Some of the roofs still have scalloped clay tiles with ridge cresting, while others have 20th-century tiles. The station has an irregular plan and consists of one storey with attics.
The west elevation, which faces the platform, showcases applied framing in herringbone and cross patterns. The left-hand gable has a rectangular projecting bay on the ground floor, which includes mullion and transom windows and a hipped roof. The upper floor features a 20th-century casement window. The right-hand single-storeyed block has part-glazed doors and a lean-to verandah porch on the left gable. The gables are adorned with pierced ornamental bargeboards, and there are ridge and gable end stacks with diagonally set shafts. On the down platform, there is a tongue and groove planked shelter with a scalloped valance.
