Description

Park Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1600, constructed with a timber frame and covered in colourwashed roughcast render. It features a clay tile roof and is designed in an H-plan, with a central block that has one storey and attics, and cross-wings that are two storeys high with attics. Each cross-wing includes a two-storeyed canted bay window, and the attics are jettied, supported by substantial shaped brackets. The right-hand cross-wing has a two-light window in the attic.

The main block has a central gabled porch with one storey and attics, featuring a pointed-arched entrance. This porch is flanked by three-light windows on the ground floor and gabled dormers in the attic. All windows in the house are leaded casements, and there is a plank door set in a moulded surround. The central block is topped with two double ridge stacks made of red brick, with diagonally set shafts; the right-hand stack has a limestone base. The left-hand cross-wing has a similar double ridge stack, while the right-hand cross-wing has a plain brick stack on its side wall.

A plaque on the porch reads: "SW 1788. Restored by SW 1884. 1950". Inside, the right-hand wing retains a 17th-century staircase with some turned balusters, illuminated by a seven-light mullioned leaded window. There are also some moulded and stopped beams on the ground floor.
