Description
Warden Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1800. It is built of red brick and has a clay tile roof. The house has a double pile plan with two storeys and attics, along with a single storey wing at the rear. The west elevation features a symmetrical facade with two gables. There are two 5-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, and two 2-light casements in the attics, all of which have glazing bars and cambered heads. The first floor includes a central blind window. The central doorway has a 6-panel door, a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars, and a pedimented hood supported by cut brackets. The north and south elevations also have two gables, although the gables on the north elevation have been rebuilt. The north side has a variety of casement windows, including one that is leaded, while the south side features 20th-century casements with rebuilt heads. The north elevation has a door similar to the front door. Both elevations have substantial projecting chimney stacks that serve the front block, with rectangular shafts that are linked at the tops. These chimney stacks are made of reused late 16th-century brick, which may have come from Warden Abbey, associated with the Gostwick family.
