Description

TL 1639 CLIFTON GRANGE STREET 11/26A Barn approx 20 M South-west of Pedley Farmhouse

II Barn. Probably early C17, timber frame on stone base; originally with wattle and daub infill, now weather boarded with plain tile roof. 4 bays with wide door in second bay from left. Front has mostly C19 weather boarding but C18 wide boards remain to rear and under corrugated iron on ends. Interior: wall framing has straight braces and stave holes and grooves for former wattle and daub infill. Roof has two purlins, the lower supported on struts the upper clasped by collars and with straight windbraces.
