Description
This barn, located approximately 20 meters south-west of Pedley Farmhouse, is likely from the early 17th century. It features a timber frame set on a stone base. Originally, the barn had wattle and daub infill, but it is now weather boarded with a plain tile roof. The structure consists of four bays and has a wide door in the second bay from the left. The front displays mostly 19th-century weather boarding, while the rear retains some 18th-century wide boards, which are also visible under corrugated iron on the ends. Inside, the wall framing includes straight braces and stave holes and grooves that indicate the former wattle and daub infill. The roof is supported by two purlins, with the lower purlin held up by struts, and the upper purlin clasped by collars, featuring straight windbraces.
