Description
The barn at Beckeringspark Manor Farm is a Grade II listed structure dating from the early to mid 18th century, likely incorporating elements from an earlier building. It measures three bays long and two bays deep, featuring a timber frame raised on a red brick plinth and clad in weatherboarding, topped with a half-hipped roof covered in 20th-century tiles.
The south elevation includes double doors in the central bay, loft doors in the outer bays, and a later plank door to the right-hand bay. The north elevation has an outshot to the central bay, which contains a small plank door. The east gable end has been rebuilt in red brick during the 19th century, with the loft floor above also replaced.
Inside, the barn has been restored in the 20th century but appears to retain much of its original timbering. The roof features purlins on two levels, with the upper ones clasped and the lower ones tenoned and staggered, along with curved braces. The ridge piece seems to be from the 20th century.
