Description

Warren Farmhouse is a house dating to the 17th century. It is located in Steppingley on Cobblers Lane. The house has a timber frame, with the east gable end featuring colourwashed brick infill, while the front has brick casing on the ground floor and colourwashed roughcast render on the upper floor. The roof is tiled, likely from the 20th century. Originally a 2-room plan house, it has a gable end facing the road. A rear extension constructed in the late 19th century now creates an L-shaped plan. The south elevation of the original house has two 2-light horizontal sash windows on the ground floor, each with glazing bars. The first floor features two 3-light casements, also with glazing bars. A central plank door sits within a simply moulded surround and flat hood supported by cut brackets. A back-to-back hearth, served by a rendered multiple ridge stack, is aligned with the door, indicating a lobby entrance plan.
