Description
Beckeringspark Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, but has been heavily modified in the 19th century. It features a variety of brick types, mostly red, with the earlier sections built in English bond. The roof is covered with 20th-century tiles. The building has a complex layout, with the main part consisting of two storeys and attics, along with several one and two-storey additions.
On the south elevation, the house has three gables, with the central gable being smaller than the outer ones. The outer gables each have a three-light mullion and transom window on the ground floor, and a two-light mullioned window on the first floor and attic. All of these windows are from the 19th century and are set under gauged brick flat arches, with the surrounding brickwork having been reworked. Each outer gable also features an ornamental blind bullseye window with a raised brick keystone. The central gable has an off-centre two-storeyed gabled porch that has been heavily reworked, with rendered coping, a two-light first-floor casement window, and a four-centred archway with a moulded label. Above the archway is an undated Bedford crest. To the left of the porch is a first-floor casement window, and there is a brick band at the first-floor level. The outer cross-wings have substantial external chimney stacks on the north elevations. The north elevation includes a variety of later lower additions, and there is a single-storeyed outbuilding that adjoins to the west.
