Description
Blackhafields Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage located on Woburn Road in Millbrook, built in 1843 as part of the Bedford Estate. The cottage is constructed of red brick and features a 20th-century tiled roof. It has a two-room plan and is one storey high with attics.
On the ground floor, there are two three-light windows, while the attic contains one two-light window flanked by two single lights. All windows are cast iron lattice casements, and the central windows on both the ground floor and attic have moulded brick labels. The attic windows are topped with three gablets, with the central gablet being larger and displaying a Bedford Estate plaque at its apex.
The cottage features a central gabled brick porch with a moulded brick square-headed arch and a cogged brick eaves cornice. At the right-hand end, there is a chimney stack with a pair of chamfered shafts linked by a moulded cornice. The left-hand gable end has a canted bay window on the ground floor. Additionally, there is a single-storeyed outbuilding that projects from the rear elevation.
