Description

Ridgmont Water Tower, located southeast of All Saints' Church, was built around 1913 by C Balfour and Son, civil engineers, for the Duke of Bedford. The structure is made of reinforced concrete and has a circular plan. It features a classical rotunda supported by eight giant Tuscan pilasters set on a stepped plinth. The east side has a large entablature with a plain frieze and a prominent cornice. There are two metal-frame, two-light windows, one positioned above the other, and to the right, there is a doorway with a plain architrave and a plank door. The other bays of the tower are blind. The interior has not been inspected.
