Description

This is an 18th-century house, possibly built on the site of an earlier structure. It is constructed of red brick with a decorative chequerwork pattern created using vitrified headers, and has a clay tile roof. The building is two storeys high with attics, and a gable end facing the road. Originally it had a two-room plan.

The west-facing front elevation features a variety of casement windows with glazing bars: three on the ground floor, two on the first floor, and one on each floor with a cambered head. A four-panel door is set within a moulded surround and has a moulded cornice hood. A substantial red brick ridge stack is positioned in line with the door. A brick band runs along the first-floor level. The road-facing gable end also has a brick band at first-floor level and a moulded brick cornice at the eaves. Casement windows with glazing bars are present on each floor, with gauged brick heads above the ground and first-floor windows, the first floor window featuring scallop moulding. A single-storey block with a slate roof was added to the rear gable end in the 19th century.
