Description
Shepherds Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a timber frame with colour washed brick and plaster infill, topped by an old clay tile roof. The building has a T-plan layout with a cross-wing on the side facing the road and stands two storeys tall.
On the north elevation, there is one 2-light leaded casement and one 3-light casement with glazing bars on the ground floor. The first floor includes a 4-light mullioned leaded window, one fixed light, and one 2-light horizontal sash. The roof is half-hipped.
The east elevation shows the main wing with one 2-light horizontal sash with glazing bars and one single leaded light on the ground floor. The first floor has two 2-light horizontal sashes with glazing bars. The front door is aligned with a red brick double ridge stack. The cross-wing gable features a 2-light horizontal sash on each floor, with one leaded window on the first floor.
