Description
Close Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located on the south side of High Street in Swineshead. It features colour washed rough cast on a timber frame, with some timber framing exposed on the south side. The cottage has an old clay tile gambrel roof and consists of three bays, with the gable end facing the road.
The west elevation includes one ground floor window and two dormers, all of which are horizontal sashes. The gable end has a two-light horizontal sash window with glazing bars on both the ground floor and in the attic. On the east elevation, there are a three-light and a two-light horizontal sash window, along with one fixed leaded light and one round-headed fixed light with a fanlight. The front door is positioned opposite a red brick double ridge stack.
