Description

Nos 1 and 2 Carlton Road are a pair of late 17th century houses constructed from coursed limestone rubble, now topped with a concrete tile roof. The buildings are two storeys tall, with No 2 being slightly lower than No 1. Both houses originally had two bays, but No 2 has an additional small bay added to its north end.

On the east elevation, the first floor features four 20th century casement windows. The ground floor of No 1 includes two doorways on the left side and a three-light casement window. No 2 has two two-light casement windows with glazing bars flanking a central doorway that features a flat bracketed doorhood. The third bay of No 2 contains an archway and a single light casement window with glazing bars.
