Description
Nos 1 and 2 Featherbed Lane are a pair of houses joined at right angles, with No 2 dating from the 16th century and No 1 being a late 19th century addition designed to match. The buildings feature a timber frame with half-timbering, and have plaster and brick infill, topped with plain tile roofs. Both houses are two storeys high. No 2 consists of four bays and has an upper floor that jetties over the three left bays, with the left two bays supported by bull-nose joists. The right end bay is a two-storey gable end, featuring a broad upper casement window and thinner framing. The front elevation of No 2 includes five wooden casement windows and a central door. No 1 has three casement windows and a slightly projecting gabled centre, with a bracketed oriel window on the left side. There is a 20th century rear extension to No 1.
