Description
No. 41 Load Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and flat. It dates from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a tile roof with gable end stacks. It stands three storeys tall and has a stepped brick cornice and plastered quoins.
The front has three windows: the second floor has a central 6-pane sash flanked by two 2-light casements, all under timber lintels. The ground floor features a pilastered shop front with brackets supporting the cornice. There is a central entrance with a 2-pane overlight above a 4-panel door. To the left of the entrance is a large 6-pane sash window, and to the right is a 3-pane shop window.
