Description

The Old Wool Barn, located to the rear of Number 19 on High Street in Pershore, is a wool barn that has been converted into partly stores and offices. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of red brick in the English Garden Wall variant bond and features a plain tile roof that is hipped to the right on the west side and fully hipped on the east side, with brick dentilled eaves.

The barn is three storeys tall. The west elevation, which faces the yard, has on the first floor round-arched part-glazed double doors and an inserted casement window. Above these, there is a small segmental-arched boarded opening with a sill. The ground floor includes an inserted plate-glazed shopfront on the right, followed by a 20th-century door and a remodelled wagon entrance with a timber lintel.

On the east elevation, or rear, there are five openings on the first floor, featuring blue and red brick segmental arches. The leftmost opening contains a 20th-century inserted door, the next has a 20th-century window, while the remaining openings are boarded up. Above these, there are three smaller, similar boarded-up openings. On the ground floor, to the left of centre, there is a doorway with a blue and red brick round arch, to the right of centre is a partly-remodelled wagon entrance with a blue-brick lintel course, and between these is an inserted entrance with a plank double door. There are single-storey additions at each end of the barn. The interior has not been inspected.
