Description
This is a former wool barn, dating to the early 19th century, which was converted into three flats around 1978. The building is constructed of red brick with accents of blue brick, primarily laid in an English Garden Wall bond. It has a hipped roof covered in plain tiles, with brick dentil eaves.
The north elevation features a blocked loading door and four segmental-arched windows on each of the three floors, with an additional window on the ground floor. The windows are 20th-century casements, and vary in width and depth. The former loading doors have timber lintels. The returns of the building have segmental-arched windows, which were remodelled or inserted later. A 20th-century lean-to porch with an entrance door has been added to the east return.
The interior was not inspected during the listing process. The building is included on the heritage register for its group value and its survival within the town centre.
