Description

29 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, store, and offices. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of brick with a stucco render and features a concrete-tile roof with brick dogtooth eaves and an external brick stack on the right side.

The exterior consists of three storeys and a three-window range. On the first floor, there is a canted bay window on the right with a leaded dentilled cornice and a mix of plate glass sashes in the arrangement of 1/1:2/2:1/1. To the left, there are two 2/2 sashes that have channelled voussoirs, keystones, and a sill-band. The second floor has two 2/2 boxed sashes with projecting sills, and on the right, there is a 4/8 boxed sash.

On the ground floor, the shopfront features plate-glazed bay windows, with the left one being canted and adorned with decorative mullions and arched tracery. Both bay windows have deep moulded sills and part-panelled sides. The central doorcase has been remodelled and is recessed, with a fascia and enriched cornice supported by one cast-iron bracket, and there is a painted plinth. The interior has not been inspected.
