Description
No. 11 High Street is a house and shop built in the second half of the 18th century, with remodels in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick in a mixed bond and features a hipped roof covered with renewed plain tiles, along with a moulded eaves cornice and a brick stack at the rear.
The building has three storeys and three bays, with a moulded eaves band. On the second floor, there are three horned 2/2 boxed sash windows. The first floor features, on the left, a canted bay window with 4/4:6/6:4/4 sashes, a pitched lead roof, and an enriched cornice. To the right, there is a 6/6 boxed sash window beneath a gauged brick flat arch. The ground floor has a deep fascia board and a 20th-century plate glass shop front with a central door. The entrance at the right end includes fluted wooden pilasters, console capitals, a Gothick traceried fanlight, a panelled reveal, and a 6-panel door. The interior has not been inspected.
