Description

Woodfield Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick infill, brick replacement walling, and some weatherboarding. The roof is plain tiled, with an external brick stack at the left gable end and another brick stack at the right end of the ridge. The building has two framed bays and is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers.

The framing consists of three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with short straight braces in the upper corners, and collar-and-tie-beam trusses featuring queen struts and V-struts in the apex. The front elevation has a pair of 2-light casements on the left side and a cross-casement on the right side. There are three flat-roofed dormers with 2-light casements, with the central dormer being narrower than the outer ones. A central gabled brick porch has 20th-century glazed double doors and large side casements. There are also attic lights in the gable ends. The interior has not been inspected.
