Description
Hockerill's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick infill and replacement walling, topped by a plain tiled roof. The building consists of three framed bays arranged in a north/south direction, with a large external chimney that has offsets and a rebuilt detached stack at the south gable end, as well as another external chimney at the north gable end. It is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers. The framing shows three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, and the collar and tie-beam truss with struts can be seen in the gable ends.
On the west front elevation, there are three 2-light casements (one featuring a plank weathering) and a large 3-light casement with a plank weathering on the ground floor. Additionally, there are three 20th-century flat-roofed dormers with 2-light casements. The main entrance is located to the left of the south bay and features a gabled porch supported by posts with trellis infill, along with a part-glazed door. The interior has not been inspected. Lean-to additions at the gable ends enclose the external chimneys.
