Description
Old Rectory Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century, which was restored in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with brick and rendered infill, a brick and rubble base, and a corrugated iron roof. The house has two framed bays aligned from south-west to north-east and includes a small external brick chimney at the north-east end. It is two storeys high, with four rows of panels from the sill to the wall-plate, short straight braces in the upper corners, and collar and tie-beam trusses with two struts. The north-west front elevation has a 2-light casement window on the ground floor, and there is a ridge stack at the south-west end. The main entrance is located at the rear. Inside, the main beams are stop-chamfered. There is a 20th-century lean-to addition at the south-west end. The building is situated facing the south-west side of the churchyard of the Church of St Peter and St Paul.
