Description
Eastham Bridge is a road bridge over the River Teme, built in 1793 and featuring repairs from the mid- to late 19th century. The structure is made of part red brick and part red and blue brick, with sandstone ashlar dressings. It has three elliptical arches of regular size, with the central arch being larger than the outer two. The central and north arches include stone keyblocks, and there are two circular flood outlets in the central spandrels, along with short angled buttresses on the central piers. A two-course band runs beneath the parapet, which is splayed at both ends and ends with square piers topped with pyramidal capping. Originally, the bridge was privately owned, and a toll was charged for crossing it; however, in 1907, it was purchased by the County Council and the toll was removed.
