Description

Woodfield House Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has undergone alterations in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick and rendered infill, resting on a sandstone rubble base, topped with an asbestos tiled roof and a moulded brick ridge stack. The cottage consists of two framed bays and is a single storey with an attic. The framing includes three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with short straight braces in the upper corners, and collar-and-tie-beam trusses with queen struts. The south elevation has three 2-light casement windows, and there is a single storey 20th-century extension on the left side. Attic lights are present in the gable ends, and the main entrance is located in the rear north elevation. The interior has not been inspected.
