Description
Forge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid- to late 17th century, with later alterations and additions from the late 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber framed with rendered and painted brick nogging, along with some partial rebuilding and additions, and features a plain tile roof. The structure likely consists of three framed bays and is one storey with an attic.
The farmhouse has three large 20th-century gabled eaves dormers that contain three-light wooden casements. There are external brick end stacks and a brick stack off-ridge located towards the front, off-centre to the left. The framing consists of square panels, with three panels between the sole-plate and wall-plate.
The front of the building has three windows, featuring 20th-century one- and two-light casements. There is a 20th-century brick addition on the front to the right, which includes four-light French casements. A 20th-century glazed door is situated between the first and second windows from the left, accompanied by a 20th-century lean-to porch. Additionally, there are 20th-century lean-to brick additions to the left and a set-back addition to the right, both of which have French casements.
