Description
The Porch House is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It is timber framed with painted brick nogging and has a plain tile roof. The building features a baffle-entry plan with two framed bays and stands two storeys high. A central brick ridge stack is present. The framing consists of square panels, with four extending from the sole-plate to the wall-plate. There are three first-floor two-light metal casements and two ground-floor two-light wooden casements from the 19th century. The central entrance has a boarded door with a 19th-century rustic gabled porch. The gable ends are jettied and supported by brackets that hold up billet-decorated bressummers. The structure includes collar and tie-beam trusses with queen-struts and V-struts. A lean-to addition is located at the rear. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
