The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the 17th century, later extended in the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features a brick structure on a sandstone ashlar plinth and has a tiled roof with external gable-end stacks.

The north front of the building has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by dormers that have segmental roofs. There are three windows on the upper floor, which are 3-light casements set under segmental heads. The ground floor has a central entrance flanked by two similar windows, and it features a 20th-century canopy with a swept leaded roof supported by plain metal posts. The doorway has a moulded wooden architrave and a half-glazed door.

On the rear (south) elevation, there is a central gablet that includes a circular radially-glazed window. The rear wing of the farmhouse is timber-framed, consisting of three square panels high with straight tension braces.
