Description
Beehive Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It has a timber-frame structure with rendered infill and a thatched roof. The building is designed in an L-shape, with two wings extending to the west and south, each featuring gable-end stacks. The angle between the wings has a quadrant with a conical thatch roof.
The west front is one storey high with an attic, which is lit by a gable on the right side of the main range. The left side of the cross-wing is blind. On the ground floor of the main range, there are two 2-light casement windows and a single fixed light casement window in the quadrant at the angle. The main entrance is located in the south wall of the cross-wing. The framing consists of three square panels high, supported by straight tension braces.
