Description
The Oak House and The Malt House are two houses dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and the 20th century. They are timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill, and have a half-hipped tile roof. The buildings form an L-shaped plan, with a main range extending westwards and a rear wing to the south. The north front has one storey with attics, which are lit by one and two gabled dormers. The ground floor has casement windows, mostly of three lights, and a pitched-roofed door to the Oak House on the extreme left, and to the Malt House to the right of centre; all ground-floor openings are protected by plank weatherings. The timber frame is arranged in three square panels in height.
