Description

The Old School House is an 1864 school and master's house, built by Sir Charles Rous Boughton of Rous Lench Court. It is constructed of polychrome brick with a tile roof and has an L-shaped plan, with a hall extending to the east and the house to the south. The east front features a gabled hall to the right, with shaped bargeboards and a finial, and a large three-light window. To the left is the house, of one storey with an attic lit by a gabled dormer. The ground floor has a lean-to porch with a Gothic-style timber front and two half-glazed doors. A bell-cote sits at the roof junction, with a large stack to the south of it.
