Description
Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed, featuring a sandstone plinth and a combination of painted brick and wattle-and-daub infill, with the south front rendered. The roof is tiled and the building is arranged in an L-shape, with the main axial stack positioned at the back of a through-passage.
The north front includes a central gabled dormer that has a horizontal sliding sash window. To the left of a lean-to porch with a ledged door, there is a single 3-light window from the 20th century on the ground floor. The right side features the gable end of a wing, which has a horizontal sliding sash window above the roof line of an adjoining slightly lower addition that contains a 2-light window from the 20th century. On the east side, a former doorway has been replaced with a 2-light window in the gable. The framing of the building appears largely intact, showcasing three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate.
