Description
Dunhampton Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the 16th century, with additions from the 17th century and further late 18th-century modifications. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill, a sandstone rubble plinth, and stacks that have decorative diagonal plan brick shafts, all topped with tiled roofs. The building has a T-shaped plan with a cross-wing on the east side and later additions at the rear. The main entrance is located on the south side, which has axial and gable-end stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a single storey at the kitchen end to the west.
On the south front, there are two three-light casement windows and a single light window to the left of a three-light glazing bar casement window. To the right, there is a lean-to porch with a partly glazed door. The gable end of the cross-wing on the right features a shaped bargeboard and three-light casement windows. Inside, the farmhouse reveals well-crafted steeply chamfered cross-beamed ceilings in two of the ground floor rooms, along with a large open fireplace.
