Description
This cattle shelter, located immediately north of Lower Nicholson Farmhouse, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof with gabled ends and a hipped corner. The structure has an L-plan layout with three bays on each side, open at the front facing the yard. Square wooden posts support long wooden corbels beneath the wall-plate. The open-fronted bays have later temporary cladding. Inside, there are tie-beam trusses with king-posts and struts, along with wooden mangers on the back wall.
