Description

Lindum House and the adjoining shop are located on Main Street in Kemerton. The building dates from the early 19th century and has undergone alterations in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with an ashlar facade, a shallow pitched plain tiled roof, ashlar gable-end parapets, and brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring three bays. The windows have dressed stone lintels, with large three-light late 19th-century casements in the outer bays and a central first-floor cross-casement. The central entrance has a 20th-century six-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed. There are attic lights in the gable ends.

The adjoining shop, dating from the late 19th century, is made of brick with a plain tiled roof and consists of a single storey and attic with one bay. It features a shop front with fluted pilasters, ornate consoles, and a moulded cornice. The shop has a 20th-century multi-paned replacement window and a six-panelled door. Above the shop front is a painted sign within a scrolled surround that reads "LANDAUS WAGGONETTES/ AND HUNTERS/ FOR HIRE." The left gable end of the shop has two ground-floor 12-pane sash windows and two attic windows with 4-pane sashes.
