Description

Bars Cottage is a late 17th-century house with 20th-century alterations. It is timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill, and has a thatched roof. The three-bay house is aligned north/south, with the south bay taller and a gable-end stack to the north. A 20th-century extension is located at the south-east corner. The house has one storey with an attic, lit by three eyebrow dormers. There are six windows: two-light 20th-century casements, two positioned in pairs. The main entrance is in the rear (east) wall. The timber framing consists of three square panels in height, with straight tension braces and straight angle braces to the north gable. The roof truss incorporates a collar.
