Description
Bevere Knoll is a house dating from the early 19th century, likely a rebuilding of an 18th-century structure, with late 19th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed of stucco and features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and large brick stacks at the rear. The house has two storeys at the front, three storeys at the rear, and a cellar. It has an E-shaped plan, with a long range oriented on a north/south axis and a lower arm forming the front elevation.
The front elevation consists of three bays, with windows that have moulded architraves and are primarily glazing bar sashes, except for the central first-floor window, which features a large cross casement. The central entrance is highlighted by a late 19th-century flat-roofed ashlar porch, which has banded rustication and clasped pilasters at the corners. The porch includes voussoirs and a large keyblock above a part-glazed door, which has the lower two panels raised and fielded. There are round-arched lights in the side walls of the porch, and within, the entrance door is part-glazed and features a traceried fanlight.
Inside, the main rooms are adorned with moulded cornices and doorheads, while the main stair hall showcases raised panelling. The rear part of the house has stop-chamfered main beams.
