6/29 Beechwood House (formerly listed as The Firs) 14.3.69 GV II

House. Late C18 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Brick, hipped slate roof behind front parapet, large brick stacks to rear wings. Three storeys and cellar, moulded cornice beneath front parapet, dentilled eaves cornice at sides and rear. Five bays; windows have stone sills and gauged flat heads; ground and first floor windows are glazing bar sashes, second floor has 6-pane sashes; central entrance has doorcase with open pediment, modillion cornice, moulded architrave and 6-panelled door with traceried fanlight; stone steps with ornate wrought iron railings lead up to the door at each side at right angles to the wall face. Interior has been much altered.
