Description

Bevere Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge, originally associated with Bevere Manor, and now used as a house. It has undergone alterations and additions in the mid-20th century. Constructed of stucco, the lodge has a plain tiled roof and a large stuccoed ridge stack. It is built in a "Cottage ornée" style.

The building is single-storied with an attic, featuring a drip mould. The plan is roughly L-shaped, with gabled wings projecting to the south and east. The east wing's gable end has the main entrance, a 20th-century door, and a lancet window in the apex. A square 20th-century light, a hood mould with returns, and a 2-light 20th-century casement are also present on the east wing’s side. The south wing's gable end features a glazed two-centred archway, a hood mould with returns, pointed-lobed trefoils in the spandrels, a lancet in the apex, and lancets in each side wall. A hipped roof projection with 20th-century windows on both elevations sits between the two wings. The north elevation incorporates a 2-light window with a cavetto-moulded mullion and hood mould with returns, alongside a 2-light 20th-century casement. The interior remains uninspected. A long, single-storied 20th-century extension runs alongside the west side elevation. The lodge is included in the listing for its group value.
