Description

Church House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, likely built on the site of a 17th century or earlier structure. It is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a plain tiled roof hidden behind a parapet at the front. Large brick stacks are located at the rear of the main range. The house is three storeys high and has five bays. The windows have gauged flat heads, moulded architraves, and glazing bar sashes, except for the second floor which has six-pane sashes. A moulded cornice runs beneath the front parapet, while a dentilled eaves cornice is present elsewhere. The central entrance is defined by a doorcase with engaged Doric columns and an open pediment, leading to a panelled door with four raised panels and a traceried segmental fanlight. The interior has not been inspected. The house was formerly listed within the parish of North Claines and had been listed twice previously, with one entry subsequently removed from the list in 2015.
