Description
Mouch Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been altered and extended in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered infill, brick replacement walling, and a plain tiled roof with banded decoration. The building consists of two framed bays aligned east to west and has an external chimney with offsets at the west gable end. It is two storeys high, with the framing showing five panels from the sill to the wall-plate and a collar and tie-beam truss with lower raking struts visible at the west gable end.
The north front elevation includes a ground floor with a 2-light window and a bay window, as well as two 2-light windows on the first floor. There is a 20th-century door with a lean-to tiled canopy to the left. Inside, the farmhouse is noted for having a large fireplace in the west wall. A large 20th-century addition at the east gable end consists of three bays that decrease in height, with small single-storey wings at the front and rear. It is possible that the original part of the farmhouse is all that remains of a larger framed structure that once existed on the site.
