Description
Bank Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has undergone alterations and additions in the mid to late 20th century. It features a timber frame with rendered infill set on a rubble base, and the gable ends are weatherboarded. The roof is plain tiled. The building consists of two framed bays oriented from north-west to south-east, with a rebuilt external rubble chimney that has a detached brick stack and a rubble bread oven located at the south-east end. The farmhouse is single storey with an attic that includes dormers. The framing consists of three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with long straight braces across the lower corners, and no visible truss.
On the south-west front elevation, all the windows are 20th-century casements. There are a 3-light and a 2-light window on the ground floor, along with two gabled dormers that each have 3-light windows. The central entrance features a 20th-century gabled porch and a glazed door. Additionally, there are attic lights at the gable ends and a 20th-century wing at the rear.
