Description

The Priory is a house, originally dating from the 17th century. It was considerably remodelled in the early 19th century and subsequently altered in the mid-20th century. The house is built of brick, painted on the sides and rear, with a plain tiled roof, decorative ridge tiles, and several 19th-century brick stacks featuring oversailing cap courses. The refronted entrance elevation has a flat roof behind an embattled parapet.

The house is two storeys and has an attic. It comprises four bays, with 12-pane sash windows that have cambered heads and large keyblocks. The outer bays of the ground floor have bay window additions with plain parapets and plain sash windows. The main entrance, in the second bay, features a pediment and a fluted pilastered surround, leading to an eight-panelled door. An attic light is situated in the east gable end.

Internally, the house was not inspected. A small amount of timber framing survives on the centre of the rear elevation. 19th- and 20th-century additions are present at the rear. The building is reportedly located on the site of a former priory.
