Description

The Elms is a farmhouse built around 1840 to 1850, featuring an attached cider house and animal sheds at the rear. It is constructed from brick with a tiled roof and has brick end stacks with tiled offsets, as well as an additional stack at the rear left. The building stands two storeys high and has a dentilled eaves course.

The front elevation consists of three bays, with all windows being 16-pane sashes that have gauged flat heads. There are two ground floor windows and three first floor windows. The central doorway is flanked by pilasters and topped with a flat canopy, leading to a part-glazed door.

To the left, the rear wing includes the former cider house, which has a hipped roof at the south-east end. This section is also two storeys tall and has three bays. The south-west elevation features three planked doors with cambered heads, a casement window with a cambered head, one first floor casement, and two lunettes. An outshut at the south end contains two livestock pens with walled enclosures. The north-east elevation has two planked doors, two ground floor lunettes, three first floor blocked lunettes, and one first floor casement.

Inside, the two bays at the south end of the building contain a complete cider mill.
