Description

This building is a barn known as The Barracks, located about 30 metres west of Lower Stone Cottage. It dates from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The barn features a timber frame set on an ashlar plinth, with weatherboarding and a plain tile roof. It consists of three framed bays with a central threshing floor. The framing includes three square panels high to the wall-plate, and the roof trusses have intermediate raking struts, with queen struts to the collar in the gables.
