Description

Laurel Cottage is a timber-frame cottage likely built between 1789 and 1809, as evidenced by deeds held by the owner. It has wattle-and-daub infill panels between the timber framing, a rubble plinth, and a rubble stack with a detached brick shaft at the right gable. The cottage has a cellar and an attic, with a gable window lighting the attic space. It has two framed bays and contains 20th-century casement windows flanking a central entrance door. The entrance door is a six-panelled design with a gabled canopy. A brick outshut is located at the rear of the property. The timber framing features three square panels up to the wall-plate, incorporating straight tension braces.
