Description

This barn, located about 10 metres west of The Old Rectory, dates from the 17th century and has some alterations from the 19th century. It features a timber frame set on a rubble plinth, with weatherboarding and a slate roof. The barn consists of four bays, with a threshing floor situated in the bay south of the centre. The framing includes three square panels high to the wall-plate, with raking strut intermediate trusses and queen strut/collar trusses that have V struts in the apex of the gable. Additionally, there are straight angle braces connecting the principal posts to the tie-beams.
