Description

Hayes Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 17th century. It features timber-framing with painted brick infill and a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of two bays. The ground floor studs have been replaced by brick, while the upper storey is framed with two rows of square panels and straight braces to the wall-plate. The windows are 20th-century casements. There is a door located between the bays, which is sheltered by a 20th-century brick porch with a hipped roof. The house has chimneys on the right-hand gable and on the rear wall to the left. The right-hand gable wall shows some exposed framing, with close-studding on the ground floor. The truss includes vertical struts between the tie-beam and collar. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
