Description

Avondale is a house dating from the early 17th century. It has a timber-framed structure with a plastered facade, while the rest is covered in brick, topped with a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has a two-cell layout, likely originally featuring a lobby entrance. There are two windows with three-light casements. The doorway is positioned to the right and features a 19th-century six-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed, and an open timber trellis porch. An internal stack is present. To the right of the main structure is a small 19th-century addition made of colourwashed brick. Inside, one ground floor room showcases exposed 17th-century joisting, and some framing is visible at the first floor level.
