Description
Montagu Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick, with the gables now covered in plaster, and features a roof made of glazed black pantiles. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical facade that includes three windows, which are three-light mullion and transom casements set beneath segmental arches. The doorway consists of a six-panel raised and fielded door, framed by a moulded architrave, and is sheltered by a mid-20th century wrought iron trellis porch. The cottage also has a plaster coved eaves cornice and a central axial stack. To the left, there is a mid-20th century lean-to addition.
